Indo update

A few things i've got up to over the last week...

• Took a plush ferry ride to Lembar, Lombok for 30,000 rupia. Highly recommend it...
• Stayed at Desert Point for 4 nights and spent $150 all up
• Watched a girl loose control of her moped and fly into a sewer/drain and scrape her face on the wall... sickening and hectic to watch, brought back a similar experience.
• Slept above roosters for 4 night and didnt need an alarm clock
• Ate amazing food in Seminyak
• Ate Mie Goreng around 10 times
• Had one hot shower
• Worn two t-shirts and two pairs of boardies
• Sat in this cafe with free wi-fi for 2 hrs sipping a coffee mohahahaha...

Bali

I've just arrived on the island of bali and have setup camp at Canggu for the next two days. Upon arrival at our villa I think we were all a little stunned at our place, i knew it was going to be sweet but i didnt really actually understand how good this place was going to be! easily the best place i've ever stay... and saying that without having a night passed yet. The marble kitchen, lounge and 8 seat dining table all fit in a nice little place beside the pool, whereas on the other side of the pool is another villa block with two bedrooms downstairs and two bedrooms upstairs, with each its own ensuite (with two sinks)... all of this is ours for the next two nights (maybe more) for around 70 each! BOOM! it doesnt get much better than this.

Lets hope there's waves tomorrow.... or I suppose we could just have a pool party.

Waves a plenty

A Passing

Its so shit how it takes a passing of someone you knew to make you realise how fragile our lives are and makes me step back and take a look at my own life and where its heading. Makes me think of all the people whose lives this will affect and how they must be feeling right now, so tragic, so painful and just plain shit. Makes me think of a time when i thought my own life was in passing and how much i didn't want to died, which brings me back to the initial thought... am i happy with what i'm doing in life? Do i have goals and am I "on track"? Do these goals have an underly objective of internal happiness or are they just plain materialistic?

With that in mind, i'm about to hit the books to study for my second last ever CPA exam, which is next Tuesday. Why am i doing CPA? More money? yes, materialistic as it sounds its just a stepping stone towards the bigger picture and my ultimate goals.

Mexican Print

Today i finally got around to sourcing out, and purchasing, a frame for one of the prints i purchased over in Mexico last year. Really stoked with how it looks. Not sure yet how i'm going to hang it as we can't nail anything into the walls and it weighs a tonne!

Total cost around $145, do you think its worth it?

Necessary Evil

Studying and working pretty much consumes 90% of my waking day, is it really worth it? sometimes i don't think so. Continual learning is necessary, but it should be fun shouldn't it??

Conclusion

I have come to the conclusion that the surf gods dont like me.... another early morning rise to find shit waves, barely rideable. Its now been over a few months since i've even been in the water. I think the last time i was in the ocean was for a triathlon.

Yay back to work...

Another day of no waves

Well what do you know, early morning rise and no waves again. Tried hitting the books to get a bit of study done, but i'm too tired from the past early mornings.

No waves...

Its been so long since i've had waves, not to mention good ones. There's been way to many 4:45am rises to find its flat... so over it. Upside i guess would have to be around 6:30 is such a beautiful time of day, super good colours in the sky and no one around

TRIathlon

Completed my first triathlon over the weekend, 300mtr swim, 8km ride and 2km run... so only short but a start. Managed to end up 42 out of 355 and 5th in my age group (20-29).

Felt a bit light headed and buggered after the swim and dead on the run but it went down well and had such a fun day, cant wait to do another one.

Waves

Finally we got some decent swell over the past week and i was able to dust the camera off and take some pics. Pretty poor shooting conditions, really early, low light, raining... but i think they kinda look ok in B&W.
